Recreation Leader II:
The City of Seminole is seeking a responsible, professional individual to perform a variety of duties for the city’s active/passive recreational leisure facilities. The duties include organizing, promoting, and supervising a variety of programs for the Athletic and Fitness Division. This is a full-time position working a varied schedule with routine evenings, and weekends.
Starting salary is $14.34/hour. The salary range is $14.34 to $20.80/hour. This position has a competitive benefit package. A background investigation and a drug screen will be conducted on the successful candidate.
Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree from an accredited college with one year of employment experience in Parks and Recreation, or closely related field; valid Florida driver’s license; Ability to obtain a Class C CDL driver’s license within 6 (six) months of employment. Possession of valid CPR/First Aid certifications.
The Recreation Division is dedicated to keeping the Seminole Community active and engaged by providing comprehensive Recreation Programming and events for residents and visitors of Seminole. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and possess strong organization and communication skills. A strong desire for excellence and experience providing responsible recreation programs in a diverse community is desired. Candidates may be assigned to any of the following program areas: Sports Programs, including youth and adult athletic leagues, fitness programs and assist with aquatics and special events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions of the classification may include, but are not limited to, the functions below and are subject to changes in operational necessity.
Plan, organize, promote and supervise recreation activities for youth and adult participants. Experience with fitness and multiple sports (playing and coaching) and/or athletic background is highly desired.
Responsibilities include data entry, assisting patrons with check-in, taking payments, answering multi-line telephones, meeting and anticipating client needs in a dynamic environment and other various clerical duties as assigned.
May be responsible for opening and closing facilities, setting up tables and chairs, orientation and facility tours to renters, assisting with audio/visual needs, monitoring events to ensure that all activities and participants are in compliance with facility rules and policies.
This position may be required to supervise Recreation Leader I staff and volunteers.
